Chaos ADHD Life Tip: When all the things are so BORING.

You know those days when you really want to stretch, and you really want to tidy a room, and you really want to empty the dishwasher, but none of them can hold your attention or spark your motivation enough to get started, and you just can't settle in enough to do any single one of them so you don't do any of them?

There's lots of life tips out there. Things like, "Just do it!" or "Just five minutes a day!" that seem like great advice. If they sound good but don't work for you, then they aren't good advice for you!

This may not be good advice for you either, its just something that has worked for me. And honestly, it doesn't even work for me all the time - its just one of the many ADHD Chaos Adaptations in my toolbox.

Here it is:

Don't do one. Don't do none. Make it interesting - embrace the chaos and do them ALL!!

Stretch one leg!

Carry a thing to the other room!

Put away a dish!

Stretch the other leg!

Put away another dish!

Get distracted and wipe the crud off your table that you've been ignoring for the past 2 weeks!

Stretch one arm!

Wander outside and pull some weeds!

Pet the cat!

Remember you were putting away dishes and go into the kitchen!

Have a glass of water!

Go stretch some more!

Will everything get done?

Nope.

Will anything be done thoroughly?

Nope. Will you leave a trail of disaster chaos that will need to be cleaned up later? Maybe. (Probably.)

Will some stuff get done a little bit?

Yup. And that counts as a win!
